Inordinate, Personified

I really enjoy exploring characterization. Previously I have done this through minimalistic scenes with repeating and often anonymous characters. Using monochromatic color palettes, mainly tones of black, and introspection as a starting point. With this series I wanted to challenge myself with creating more intricately detailed creatures based on an ever-growing list of prompts. Seeing how many personalities I can create using the same techniques, color palette, style, and themes. Forming their personalities around large inordinate concepts such as souls, faith, and chaos, as well as scientific phenomena and the passing of time. All things that fascinate me and often are beyond my comprehension. Intending to create a sense of togetherness throughout the pieces by exploring how contrasts creates harmony, as seen in “Day and Night” with the two main components being equally separate yet balanced.
